It's great when I hear about wedding plans from people who are getting married and what they will be having at their wedding and sometimes a question will come up that someone will ask me

Should I have a wedding videographer at my wedding?

That question is a very hard question to answer because it’s all down to the bride and groom's personality because some people don’t like being filmed, some people don’t like the sound of their own voice and some people don’t have the budget for a videographer.

So I will try and help you decide if you should have videographer at your wedding.

I have a photographer, will that be enough?

The difference between photography and videography at a wedding is like comparing an oven and a microwave, they both do the same thing, but you would use them to get different results. Photographs are very important at a wedding because photographs can capture things the film can’t because a photographer can be more agile between shots and be more creative with what they can capture. But with film, you get to capture voices from people saying a funny joke, to watching your first dance again in action. They both capture different things, it all depends on what you want to remember from your wedding day.

My friend/uncle/auntie can film the wedding with her/his camcorder

This is true and your they might be able to film your wedding but what he/she might lack is the knowledge on how to deal with poor light and it might take him/her away from enjoying the day.

Wedding videos are expensive and they are not in my budget

Every wedding that I photograph or film, the general theme from the bride and groom’s in feedback is that the wedding day went so fast. Even after a while, some of your memories might fade and you might forget some things that happen at your wedding, so with having a wedding video to look at again, you are able to relive your wedding and remember all the things that made you laugh and all the things that made you happy cry. After you have eaten the wedding cake, returned the hired suits, checked out of your accommodation, how do you want to remember your wedding?

So the choice is yours, are you going to get a wedding videographer, a wedding photographer or someone who could do a bit of both?

Should you have a drone at your wedding? You could be missing out on some unique photos if you don't http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2017/3/drone-wedding-photography Find me on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/GaryCowanArt

Should you have a drone at your wedding?

Can drone photography capture images that normal photography can't do?

Well the answer to that question is YES!

I have been capturing images using a drone at weddings for about a year and I have managed to capture photos that would be impossible to get using a normal camera. Most of my style is very natural and I usually try and hide in the background to get natural beautiful shots that tells a great story of the day using my DSLR camera but if you are getting married, why should your photos look like every other wedding photo?

When I started wedding photography, I studied all the different styles that wedding photographers displayed on their website and what I saw was that most of the photos that where shown where posed and unemotional. I don't mind posed photos but when 50% of the photos you see in an album are posed, I just think that the story of the day was not told.

I have to admit, my style over the years has slightly changed but the main element of the photographs that I have taken has been either very natural or very fun. I use my DSLR camera to get my natural photos and use my drone to get my fun photos.

These are some of the photos I have managed to get at a wedding using a drone.

but even if you have a drone at a wedding, using a drone is just one aspect of the photos that you can get from your wedding day. There still needs to be room to include the fun and natural photos as well.

So if you want different photos captured at your wedding, consider what drone photography can do to make your day even more special and capture more photos of the day in it's own unique special way.

My Portrait Lens http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2017/2/my-portrait-photography

I really enjoy using my 85mm lens to take photos of people as its gives me the best results without getting to close to the person that I am photographing. Not all 85mm lens work the same on every camera but with enough practise, you can get some terrific results.

So why is the 85mm lens so good for portrait work?

With this lens, you have ability to melt the background. You can pretty much shoot anywhere, and make the background look good and non-intrusive. I am not saying that you can just go to the shops and buy a 85mm lens and your photography will improve because with everything in life, it takes practise.

So if you want to buy a 85mm lens, they can cost anything from £80-£1000+ and the more you practise and pay, the better the results.

How to be a better photographer http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2017/2/how-to-be-a-better-photographer camera clip artcamera clip art

One thing that you should understand when taking a good photo, it doesn’t matter which camera you have because the most important thing about taking a decent photo is you.

Some of my favourite photos that I have ever taken where done with the camera on my phone because it’s a handy thing too always have on you. You cannot take an SLR camera with you everywhere you go so sometimes it’s just great to live in the moment instead of watching life at the back of a camera.

So when someone says ‘Gary I have £x amount of money, which camera would you recommend?” If I am going to be honest, the best investment would be watching YouTube video’s on how take photos or reading photography books and that would save you so much money.

If you wanted to be a better football player, you wouldn’t go out and buy the most expensive football boots.

If you wanted to be a better tennis player, you wouldn’t go out and buy the most expensive tennis ratchet.

If you want be a better photographer, you wouldn't go out and buy the most expensive camera.

Watch the video below for more information and I hope it helps and saves you money

Well it's been another busy couple of months with a fashion shoot, 3 weddings and a engagement party photographed.
It was an amazing day to photograph Lady Louise during the autumn. It started off as a rainy day but was  very happy the rain went so we could do this fashion shoot in the leaves.

Next was the wedding with Mr and Mrs Monro. This was an exciting wedding and I really enjoyed myself photographing this wedding.

Next up was Steph and Wayne Downing terrific engagement party. This was an amazing party for an amazing couple. Everybody partied hard with many happy faces dancing throughout the night. Overall it was a superb night and they are going to have a brilliant life together :)

Well Fran and Dale's was a superb to end 2015 on and I couldn't have wished for a better wedding. So happy that Fran and Dale wanted me to photograph their wedding as I got introduced to some truly nice and pleasant people. Well for my first wedding of 2016, it was superb to photograph Katy and Mark's wedding at West Tower. The guests and family where brilliant and the rain stopped and the sun started to shine as soon as the wedding ceremony finished which was a good sign for Katy and Mark's future together. Great day, lovely wedding, amazing couple.

What's New : May - October 2015 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2015/11/whats-new-may-october

I have been very busy over the previous months photographing many amazing wedding and events that make me very lucky to be a photographer.

One of these wedding was the wedding of Emma & Neil Wright in the Lake District. It was a great pleasure to photograph Emma and Neil Wright's wedding day over the bank holiday weekend. Emma and Neil where surrounded by great friends and family and it was such an enjoyable event to photograph. I wish them both all the happiness for the future.

Another wedding I photographed was Hayley & Darren Smith wedding. I had such a good time photographing Hayley and Darren's wedding with them being two down-to-earth people. Everybody had a good time, it was a very happy occasion and I wish them both a lifetime of happiness.

Well the day after Charlotte and Steven's wedding, I thought on how much laughter there was in one night. From the paper plane throwing, to superb singing from a bridesmaid, wedding guests that were extremely funny and great music being played on the dance floor. A truly wonderful night for a wonderful couple.

Let's not forget Anika's Birthday Photoshoot were I had a great day meeting her family.

I thought it was going to be a rainy day, but the sun decided to come out for Chloe and Mark's wedding and it was a terrific wedding. I met some lovely friends and family members of the bride and groom at the wedding and I wish Mark and Chloe many happy days for the future.

It was supposed to be a very rainy day on Saturday for Michelle and Stephens wedding but after a bit of a downpour in the morning, the weather cleared and everybody got to enjoy a very happy wedding celebration. I met some very nice and funny people at the wedding and it was a pleasure to meet all the family and friends who attended the wedding. Congratulations Stephen and Michelle!

With a live band playing some amazing tunes, with a very relaxed atmosphere at a stunning venue, I have to say that Clare and Chris had a cracking wedding. What an amazing day and night! Congratulations!

With a couple of salsa events photographed, it has been a very exciting over the months photographing.

So what is coming up?

I have 3 weddings to photograph over winter and with each of them will be completely different so I will get to enjoy them all .

Well the wedding season has started and I am back on the road travelling around the country photographing some wonderful weddings in 2015.

Between January and March, I usually tend not to book any weddings so I can practise new styles and techniques for the upcoming Spring, Summer and Autumn weddings. Also it gives me time to try some of the other areas of photography that I enjoy doing from Landscape photography to Fashion Photography.

I had a trip to London to photograph it's skyline and landscapes which was very cold but a fun thing to do in February. With many great attractions to view in London, it was worth the visit.

I had a very fun engagement session with Emma and Joe in February before they went away to get married abroad. Emma contacted me because I photographed a friend’s wedding in 2014 and they recommended me to photograph her engagement session. We had such a laugh doing the shoot and we produced some amazing photographs together

I really enjoy my shoot with Monic Dzej. She is a young and talented model and blogger and is very unique on the images that she wants capturing for herself. I travelled down to Leeds to capture the following images and it may have been a very cold day, but we both put a brave face on it and just got on with it.

In March we had the Eclipse, it wasn't a total eclipse but it was still good to see.

In April, my first wedding of the year was with Sarah and Jamie Tabord. This was a superb wedding and everybody had a good time. Sarah looked amazing in her wedding dress and they are well suited for each other, a very down-to-earth and relaxed couple. I can tell they will be happy with each other forever!

With meeting up with Hollie and Simon again after I photographed their wedding in 2014, it was also good to catch up with previous guests from previous weddings.

Here are some photos from this wonderful wedding.

My second wedding of the year was with Darren and Sarah. I have to say Darren and Sarah are like two pieces of a 2 piece Jigsaw, a perfect match. I had a great time photographing this wedding and it was fusion of two cultures that was so amazing to see. The weather was great for this wedding as well and everybody was talking advantage of the lovely sunshine that blessed this momentous occasion.

So what is coming up?

I have 3 weddings to photograph in May and with each of them will be completely different so I will get to enjoy them all .

What's New : December 2014 - January 2015 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2015/2/whats-new-december-2014---january-2015

Well after a busy 2014 doing many memorable weddings,  I used the winter time this year to relax and do a different style of photography that I love to do and that is Landscape photography. Its great heading out around the north west and taking photographs of the beautiful landscapes that the UK has to offer and I managed to capture a lot of amazing events.

One of my favourite photograph that I managed to capture over winter period was the rainbow over Blackpool. That is the first time I have ever taken a photograph of a rainbow and it was a unique event.

I travelled up and down the motorway and visited places from the Lake District to Southport and each day had something new to photograph from very windy days to very cold and snowy days, landscape photography rocks!

So what is coming up?

Well I have many portrait photography sessions to photograph in February from engagement shoots to modelling shoots so they will be very creative with trying to be natural at the same time, I can't wait to do them.

I also bought some new toys and lens for my wedding season of 2015, so I think this year I will be pushing to the limit on the quality of images that my bride and grooms will be getting, I can't wait to start doing them all.

It's going to be a very busy 2015 with weddings, portrait and fun photography all the year round, cant wait!

Healthy Tasty Food - Jerk Chicken Burger http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2015/1/Healthy--Tasty--Food--jerk-chicken-burger Hungry, why not try a Jerk Chicken Burger recipe that I have found and it's only about 450 calories and will fill you up.

Flavour lean chicken with Jamaican-inspired spicy seasoning, griddle then and serve in a bread roll with mango, tomato, lettuce and sauce

Ingredients

2 skinless chicken breasts
few thyme sprigs, leaves picked
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp jerk seasoning
juice 1 lime
2 large bread rolls
½ small mango, stoned, peeled and sliced
1 tomato, sliced
1 Little Gem lettuce heart, shredded
2 tbsp mayonnaise and ketchup, to serve (optional)

Instructions

Put the chicken breasts in between pieces of cling film and bash with a rolling pin to flatten. Mix together the thyme, oil, jerk seasoning and half the lime juice in a bowl. Add the chicken and leave to marinate for 5 mins.

Heat a griddle pan until hot and cook the chicken for 4-5 mins each side or until cooked through. Remove from the heat. Meanwhile, toast the cut sides of the buns for 1-2 mins.

Put the chicken on the buns and top with the mango, tomato and a handful of lettuce. Squeeze over the rest of the lime and top with mayo and ketchup, if you like.

The Jerk Chicken once cooked should look like this.

And the burger once dressed with the mango, tomatoes and lettuce should look something similar to this.

I have never made this before and it takes only 10 minutes to make. I have to say, its one of the tastiest spicy burgers I have had in a while and the mango works really well with it. Highly recommended and I will be having this again! Yummy!

Wedding Diet - Sesame chicken salad http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2015/1/wedding-diet---sesame-chicken-salad If you are trying to lose weight for your wedding and looking for a low calorie (300 calories) but tasty food, why not try and make a Sesame Chicken Salad?

I found this recipe on a BBC Website and it should take 10 minutes to make and it should serve 2 people.

Ingredients

2 skinless chicken breasts

85g frozen soya beans (I didn't use these, but you could if you like them)

1 large carrot, finely cut into thin matchsticks

4 spring onions, finely sliced

140g cherry tomatoes, halved

small bunch coriander, chopped

small handful Thai or ordinary basil leaves, chopped if large

85g herb or baby salad leaves

1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

This is a photo on what the ingredients looked like before I started making it for myself.

For the dressing

grated zest and juice 1 small lime

1 tsp fish sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

2 tsp sweet chilli sauce

Instructions

Put the chicken in a pan and pour over cold water to cover. Tip the soya beans into a steamer. Bring the pan to a gentle simmer, then cook the chicken for 10 mins with the beans above.

Meanwhile, mix the dressing ingredients in a large bowl. When the chicken is cooked, slice and toss in the dressing along with the beans, carrot, onions, tomatoes, coriander and basil. Mix really well, pile onto the salad leaves and sprinkle with the sesame seeds.

Once it was finished, this is what it looked like.

Alternatives Instructions

You could actually just buy some salad dressing from a supermarket and I said before, I didn't use the Soya Beans.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Photographing animals at a zoo http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/9/photographing-animals-at-a-zoo Preston Wedding Photographer - Photo By Gary Cowan

During the course of our lifetime, each and every one of us will visit the zoo at some point in our lives. It may be with friends or with your family and you will always take a camera with you to get those snaps of elephants playing with bark, giraffes walking around and lions roaring.

Taking photos at a zoo can be very challenging at times because you enter continuous changing lighting conditions from being indoors in a dark environment, to going outside in a sunny environment.

One tip to taking photos indoors of an animal behind a glass it to stand straight at the glass and don’t use flash if possible and increase your ISO level (try and not go higher than 800). Also if you press the camera against the glass, it will also help with the image quality (make sure you get a cloth and wipe the smudge marks from the area of the glass before taking a photo). The above and below photos where both taken through a glass window.

Didn't know how sad this orangutan looked until I got the picture home and looked at it on my p.c.

Preston Wedding Photographer - Photo By Gary Cowan

To take photos through a fence, can be tricky. A tip is to set your camera aperture settings to around f/2.8 (or as close as you can to it) and focus on the animal. This will blur out the fence better. Also a bit of luck is needed when taking photos and I was lucky enough to see this lion hugging a tree.

Preston Wedding Photographer - Photo By Gary Cowan

If all that fails and you can't still take a decent photo, it doesn't matter, you can still go out and enjoy the day by using your eyes and brain to remember things and just enjoy the moment.

What's New : September 2014 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/9/whats-new-september-2014

First off, August was full of memorable moments for two couples that I was lucky enough to photograph. My first wedding in August was photographing Stephen and Sarah Mack's wedding in Blackburn. It was full of laughs from the ceremony through to the reception. Stephen and Sarah are a terrific couple and they are meant to be together. We had so many laughs from taking the group photos to watching Stephen and Sarah cut the cake, a very amusing day indeed.

With my next wedding, I had the pleasure of photographing Oliva and Stan Ely's wedding in Mawdesley. When I turned up with my camera, it was touch-and-go if the rain would pass and it was completely raining until 3 minutes before the bride arrived at the church, then the rain disappeared for the rest of the day. They had a fantastic day and was great to be a part of the special day

So what’s new in September 2014

I am excited to be photographing Ania and Marcin this month after the birth of Gabriel. Will amazing to see all Gabriel because last time, I only got to see a bump.

Also for the next two months, I will be starting some non wedding photography projects so it will be great to experiment a bit with my camera to see what I can produce. Can't wait to uploaded some fun and creative pictures I can think off.

That's it for September, I feel like it's going to be an exciting month.

What's New : August 2014 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/8/whats-new-august-2014

July was an exciting time and first off, I had a fun day photographing Natalia and Geoffrey engagement shoot in Preston. We went to Miller park and enjoyed the nice warm weather and at the end of the photography session, we watched a bit of a school play that was being acted out on the park. Natalia and Geoffrey are now a happily married couple after getting married abroad.

Next Ania gave birth to her baby boy Gabriel and Ania and Marcin will make a terrific mum and dad. It was a amazing day photographing their maternity shoot.

Also in July, I had a very fun and enjoyable day photographing Chris and Sarah Mckay's Scottish wedding at Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa. There was loads of entertainment during the day and night for the guests to enjoy. They had a magician, a caricature drawer, singing and topped off with also plenty of food to eat.

I was with Sarah and Chris most of the wedding day and night and got to see this wonderful day pan out from Chris sending love notes to Sarah to watching Chris and Sarah on the dance floor dancing the night away.

It was a very fun day, even doing the Marryoke video was entertaining and it was a perfect day for a perfect couple and it was a joy to meet their family and friends.

So what’s new in August 2014

Well first wedding I shall be photographing will be Sarah and Stephen in Blackburn. It's going to be an exciting wedding and I am looking forward to it. They are a very down-to-earth couple and its going to be a very special day for them.

Then my second wedding will be Olivia and Stan. They are both looking forward to their wedding day and with baby Eleanor's making a guest appearance, it will a happy day for their friends and family.

I can't wait to photograph both weddings, hopefully the hurricane weather will be gone by then.

What's New : July 2014 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/7/whats-new-july-2014

June was a great month for photography and I managed get loads of pictures from various events that I attended. First up were Dane and Natasha's wedding in Freizland in Oldham and that wedding was full of fun all day. It’s was very traditional church wedding with the reception across the road serving ice-cream, live music and champagne for the guests. The day went really well and everybody enjoyed themselves on a bright and sunny day.

Also in June, I travelled down to Southport to photograph Elizabeth and Phil’s wedding on a hot sunny day. We managed to get some creative photos during the day and it was one of the sunniest days to get married which was good for everybody. While trying to not get mixed up with Phil and his twin brother and battling the sun to try and get some nice pictures, it was great fun with great people.

Finally in June were Linda and Peter’s 25th Wedding Anniversary in Elllemere Port. This was such a nice occasion and it was celebrated with their friends and family. During the day, they served scones with tea and enjoyed a nice quiz which was based on the year they got married. Linda and Peter have never had their picture taken before so it was great to take pictures of them and make them feel less nervous on having their picture taken. Overall, it’s been a very exciting June.

So what’s new in July 2014

I think there is going to a very special wedding happening in July and I finally get to photograph Sarah and Chris’s wedding. This is going to be very special because what we are planning to do is going to be amazing and going to test me on my camera skills to the maximum, I am so looking for to it! Already I know I will be laughing for most of the day, so I expect by the next day to have lost my voice, can’t wait!

Also Natalia and Geoffrey are getting married soon so looking forward on photographing an engagement session with them in Preston

What's New : June 2014 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/6/whats-new-june-2014

In May, I had the pleasure of photographing Rebecca and Ben Browns wedding at Ribby Hall Village.

Weather wise, the day started of great with amazing sunshine beaming down from the sky’s and photographing the bridal preparation was fun and exciting.

During the day, the guests had many laugh and with funny speeches and great tunes playing on the dance floor.

Everybody looked to have had a great time and the Willy Wonka Themed Wedding with treats for everybody went down well.

Overall, it was a superb day.

Also in May, Rachel and Tom Shirley hosted a great wedding ceremony in Preston with the reception at Bashall Barn in Clitheroe.

From beginning to end, it was full of laughs and with an entertainer singing some great songs during the night; I don’t think they could have asked for more.

I will remember Rachel and Tom's wedding for a long time. The bridal preparation great, the ceremony great and the reception great, in conclusion.....it was great!

So what is new in June 2014?

A very busy and exciting month in store for me in June.

I am firstly going to a place called Freizland in Oldham to photograph Natasha Hirst & Dane Bradwell wedding. The venues look amazing and if everything goes according to plan, the sun will be out for this church wedding. With the church and the reception venue across the road from each other, I am very excited to be the photographer for this wedding.

Also this month, I will be photographing Elizabeth Grogan & Phil Lawson wedding in Southport. The venue where they are getting married has some unique features, so hopefully if the sun is out, we will get some amazing pictures. Looking forward to this wedding and I think we are going to get some creative photos after a conversation with Phil.

Last but not least, I will be heading down to Ellesmere Port to photograph Linda and Peter Robson Silver Wedding. With many conversations with Linda, I can tell she is very excited. Being married for 25 years is brilliant and I can’t wait to photograph this celebration.

What makes a good photograph? http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/5/what-makes-a-good-photograph

With the rush of people these days rushing out to buy DLSR cameras because they have become more affordable, it's become a myth that you need a decent camera to take decent photos. In some cases, it is true if you were going to photograph a wedding, a professional portrait session or some kind of event, but for the average person, the camera built into a mobile phone or an old compact camera is good enough.

Taking a picture these days is very easy because most of us have a camera within touching distance 24/7. So what makes a good photograph? Well in my opinion it all depends on what that picture means to the person who took it.

If all of your pictures that are on your phone, Facebook and your p.c all disappeared overnight, how much money would you pay to get those pictures back? £100, £500, £1000 !?

You probably took most of the photos you own with the camera on your phone, but I bet most of these photos are now priceless.

So if you are taking photos and thinking "Wish I could take decent photos!", you are probably already doing that already, the real question is "How can I improve the quality of the photos that I am taking?".  That question is such a big question to answer in one blog post so I will leave that question for now.

So go out with your compact camera or camera phone and just enjoy taking photos, there will be plenty of opportunities now with the weather improving slowly.

My first ever camera was a Sony Cybershot cheap as chips camera and it was used to take the picture above. It may not be the best butterfly picture ever, but it was good enough for me at the time.

Whats New : May 2014 http://www.garycowan.co.uk/blog/2014/5/whats-new-may-2014

This month, I managed to team up with a multi-talented model called Megan Alice. Not only is she a great model, she runs her own dance academy in Glossop doing street dance.

During our shoot in Heaton Park, we managed to get some amazing pictures and the weather was great. It was my first time in Heaton Park and I can see why many major events happen at the location, it looks very nice. Megan and I managed to find some good locations for our shoot and we noticed we gathered an audience and people taking a sneaky pictures while we were doing our shoot. Overall, it was a great  location for the theme we where after (Chanel/Gatsby look) and the building and scenery help create the picture perfectly.

So what is new in May 2014?

Well I have some exciting weddings coming up.

First one is at Ribby Hall where I get to photograph Rebecca and Ben's wedding. I have photographed at Ribby Hall before so  it will be great to go back and photograph there again.  I can see lots of good photos coming from this wedding and Rebecca and Ben are very nice people.

Ribby Hall is a nice place to have a wedding and the garden has great features outside where group pictures and individual pictures can take place. Will be good to fire away with my camera.

Next I get the pleasure of photographing Rachel and Tom's wedding at Our Lady and St Particks Church with the reception is at Bashall Barn. This will be a very good wedding and I think I will see a cow or two at Bashall Barn. After meeting Rachel and Tom, they seem very down-to-earth people and can't wait to photograph their wedding.

I have never photographed at these locations before so really excited to be going there and snapping away. I think there is plenty of room to get those 'natural' shots while being creative at the same time.

So from watching ' Brooklyn Nine Nine' (great comedy show) , doing geeky computer stuff and taking pictures, that it about it for me for May.

It's going to be very busy and lots of exciting pictures ready to be taken.

After being asked some questions about wedding photography, I thought to myself, could anyone be a wedding photographer if you know how to take decent photos?

As some of you may know, I am a computer geek (yes I have said in the past "just reboot your pc" because that usually fixes about 95% of all computer problems). I have been working in the computer industry for over 10 years but about 4-5 years ago, I bought myself my first DSLR camera. I was photographing everything and anything to a point that doctors nearly had to surgically remove the camera from my hand because people thought it had become part of my body.

Flash forward 2 (may be 3) years, I have a decent camera and couple of decent lens and I have seen photos from other wedding photographers weddings and thought "I could do that, that looks so easy!", How wrong was I!

The only thing I can say from the weddings I have done up to now is that you need proper wedding equipment because the £400 SLR camera from Argos and a couple of lens may not be enough (even if one of the lens is a 50mm 1.4).

You also you have to be a Jedi Master with the camera and learn how to use it fully in every light changing conditions to capture that special photo. Also you need X-Men abilities with the special powers to predict future events of the wedding day before it actually happens. In between taking photos, you have to be a entertainer and try to get children to smile for you for the camera. At some weddings, I have pulled so many funny faces, I might take up Gurning one day.

So while not predicting world events, Jedi Mastering and gurning, you also have to have miniature personal assistant implanted in your brain to remind you when things will happen on the day, what photos need to be taken and  to keep track of where everybody is.

Have I told you need a lot of patience. You have to have the same amount of patience that a crane would have when it  stands on one leg waiting for a fish to swim by.

Did I also mention that you may also have to use your Picasso and Leonardo da Vinci skills and think of creative ways to capture and edit photos.

So if you don't mind all of that, do it, you get to meet some amazing people at every wedding and they are a lot of fun.
